God is Opening Doors

One morning, as I was leaving for work, I discovered that I had bent the key to both the front and side doors to my home. I placed the key against a hard surface, and attempted to press it back into shape, but it remained warped. While the key still worked, I had to force it into the lock, position it just so, and carefully turn it. This caused a bit of concern, as it was my only key. I wondered if I could quickly have a duplicate copy made, but since it was a “smart key” that would not work.

Later that morning, I reached out to the property manager to request a new key. I was advised that it could take a few days for a duplicate to be made. What was I going to do in the meantime? I considered leaving my door unlocked or simply “chancing it”. I certainly did not want to risk losing everything that I had invested in, or risk being locked out altogether, but what was I to do?

The following day, I thought about calling out from work, but instead I decided to lock my door, and call a locksmith if all else failed, but when I arrived home that afternoon, one of the building managers was out on the property. I stopped him and explained my situation. His response was “Oh, all you need is a key? There is no need for you to wait, just give me five minutes”. Within five minutes, I had two shiny new keys. I immediately thanked him, unlocked the door with ease, walked in, took a big sigh of relief, and thanked God for an open door!

 What is the Message?

Perhaps you have made a significant investment in your career, your relationships, your ministry, or your business, but you find yourself facing resistance. You are seemingly having to force doors to open. You are frustrated because you have invested far too much to risk losing it all. Maybe you’ve heard, just wait. The doors of opportunity will eventually open for you. The right person will come into your life in the future. People will patronize your business at some point.

But today, God wants you to know that the wait is over. Just like the building manager held the key to my open door, you too are going to cross paths with someone who holds the very keys you need, to walk through open doors of opportunity. Today not tomorrow! In fact, they are going to be more than happy to help you and may even go out of their way to do so. You will not have to force doors to open, you will walk in with ease. God is opening doors for you!

In the Scriptures, keys almost always represent authority. Today, you have the authority to speak God’s blessings over your endeavors. You are not trying to force God’s hand; you are simply agreeing with Him about what He has already spoken about you. In Revelation 3:8, the Scripture reads “I know your works… I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, ‘you’ have kept my word, and have not denied my name. (NKJV) Today, I want to remind you that your open door awaits you!   As always, remember as you navigate through the busyness of your day, be sure to listen for God’s messages in the moment.
